Any mac gamers out there got any recommendations for a good mouse that perhaps doesn't have crappy software.

I've got a logitech G602 currently, and while I like the shape and buttons etc, i've just had nothing but issues with the software. Constantly causes my mouse to just cut out and freak out and stop working. I'm always unplugging the stupid receiver and plugging ti back in to have it work for awhile and then die out.

Before this I had the Rat MMO7 mouse, which was decent. But, it didn't hold up, buttons broke off and it only lasted like a year.

Recommendations? I always try to stick with very current OS so I prefer a mouse that actually manages to update drivers on a regular basis and not a once in a couple years basis.

I don't really care if it's wireless or wired. Wired would probably be better i guess, cheaper and more reliable.

If you're willing to spend $150 then I would recommend the Logitech G900. This is undoubtedly the BEST mouse I've ever used and the perfect gaming mouse currently. Its extremely responsive (1ms) plugged in or wireless, up to 8 programmable buttons, G logo lighting, perfect ergonomic design (also ambidextrous), and the buttons/scroll wheel feel satisfying to press/scroll. The only downside is that there is no Mac compatible software. However, you can program the configurations on a Windows machine and enable the memory chip on the mouse to remember your selections. And you can create up to 5+ configuration settings and then toggle between them by pressing the button under the mouse.

Yea having no software at all is not what I would classify as a mouse not having crappy software. No software is about as crappy as it gets. :D

I've used Logitech mice for many years and NEVER installed their software.

Use either "USB Overdrive" or "SteerMouse" to set up the extra buttons on the mouse to your liking.

If it's a "gaming mouse" (with extra buttons that USB Overdrive may not "see"), then SteerMouse might be the best solution.
