I am now running a Hackintosh/Windows dual boot on a system with an overclocked i5 6600K, RX480 GTR graphics card, 512GB SSD over Sata.

Because I started a sidebusiness I want to get away from the hackintosh approach. I also really like the Mac Mini form factor and the fact that I would be able to keep my current screen, keyboard etc.

My first thought was to just keep my old PC for when I want to game, but now I came along a video of SnazzyLabs (https://bit.ly/2CXvyBR) where they compared the performance of an eGPU on bootcamp and a Windows PC and the Macbook + eGPU really did pretty well.

So now I am wondering: would I just be fine to run Windows in Bootcamp and game with an eGPU? I would get the i7 Mac Mini.

Also: 50% of the games I play have a Mac OS release.

You'll be fine with i7 and good eGPU, for sure.

I hope that thermals in Mac Mini will be sufficient for that beast. But, games rarely put the CPU under the maximum load if your GPU is good enough.
