Hi all,

I have not seen any threads about this topic on MacRumors.

I bought my IPP 10.5 a month ago to replace my IP2 Air. Great experience so far. Last week I was working on a terrace with the sun in my back and noticed a slight gap b/w the body and the bezel on both up and bottom sides of my IPP.

I had a look at my Air 2 and there is absolutely no visible gaps. I found the same issue described on a Reddit forum: https://www.google.fr/amp/s/amp.red...ad_pro_105_slight_gap_between_body_and_bezel/

Here is the picture of my IPP.

Tell me what you think please. Do you have the same gap ? I have an appointment tomorrow at the genius bar, and expect them to swap my IPP... Hopefully they will acknowledge that defect...

I can see it from your picture. It's definitely a minor issue as far as the display not seating properly against the casing. But I would be interested to know if Apple decides to replace the device for you or not?

Thanks, I'll let you know. But given the price I paid for it, I expect my IPP to be "perfect".

I had a similar issue with my iPad Pro 9.7 and Apple did replace it, but not solely for that reason. In fact it took me a while to spot that the screen was slightly out of alignment.

The other issue with my iPad was a sound when you pressed on a certain part of the screen. It felt like the screen wasn’t probably adhered.

I was at the Apple Store today. They acknowledged the issue, the genius saw the gap b/w the bezel and the screen. They exchanged my IPP right away :)

My new IPP has no gap and looks perfect! I have always been heard and pleased by the Apple service... Given the price we pay their devices, this is the least they can do.

I've seen this many times before. I had my Air 2 replaced quite a few times and some of them looked just like it. It didn't really bother me surprisingly.

I think it's one of those oversights where someone looks close Enough to find it or just never notices it at all. But at least Apple acknowledges it.

I just got my 5th 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The others had so many problems with uneven screens and really bad home buttons that were mushy. Now the screen isn't perfect on this one but it's the best so far. Also the home button, lock button, and volume buttons are extremely firm and clicky which is difficult to find. The only problem is along the entire right edge their is a pretty big noticeable gap between the body and screen. It's just frustrating to pay nearly $1,000 for these devices and the final quality of the product from the factory is far from worth it.

I understand you. If you are not happy with it go for an exchange, it is a bit painfull and time consuming but once you open the new one, take time to inspect it. This is what I did, I even restored my new IPP at the Apple Store and took time to check screen hue or uneven color, gap b/w bezel and screen, buttons. Don't be ashamed to be the boring OCD guy... You are not, and you have the right to be perfectly happy with your new device.

This is something that Apple actually
encourages. If you're somebody that's been exchanging iPads multiple times for defects, then I would suggest Using/setting up in the store, test it and make sure your content with it before you leave.

I've seen this before as well on the iPad air 2 and iPad Pro 10.5, enough to be able to feel a difference between the sides of the iPad
