Really happy with my iPhone X but noticed something.. I can feel where the stainless steel band and the glass meet. More on certain sides than others.

Looking at the back there appears to be a small darker line on certain parts around the frame.

Do you guys notice this as well or is it smooth all around?

It's difficult to put in a photo and for the untrained eye I think it's not visible.

More of a feel holding the phone and feeling the edges of the band/glass.

Yes I have the Silver version and there is a tiny gap where the stainless steel meets the glass. I have noticed it before on the 6-7 Plus models I've owned as well.

Its hit a miss whether you get one without. If its a massive gap then return it but if its tiny I wouldn't worry about it.

I am super OCD about my Apple products but over the years I've just accepted that there is no perfect Apple product out there. If you start examining every product in detail then you will find flaws on everything.

I've had yellow screens, uneven screens where one half is pinkish and other half bluer etc.

Have to say- I have also noticed this on almost every iphone which is a bit disappointing given the price range of the product. On my current iphone X silver 256gb, on the back the right side of the glass has a slight gap between the stainless steel band and glass compared to the left side which has almost 0 gap and is fully sealed(this is with the screen facing down). Some people may say their phone is fine, but I believe it's based off how OCD you are. As UK-MacAddict mentioned above, I'm also super OCD and notice every little thing, while some may never even notice this- but it is definitely there.

Yes all iPhones since the 6 have this. This is why little bits of dust accumulate at the top between the screen and the body of the phone. The gap must be wider at the top since that’s where the dust accumulated.

You can insert a thin piece of paper in the gap at the top. I’ve had it it on my 6, 7, and now X.

I've definitely always noticed at the top, also noticing it for small parts of the bank now as well since that now also has seams vs 6/7 models which did not.

I have a gap between the band and screen where the volume buttons are. I can fit a paper between the gap and also see some red metal inside. Contacted Apple Support, they acknowledge the problem and now I have a appointment at the Apple Store on Monday. Will probably get a replacement according to the guy i talked to today.

I have picked up tons of demo models. All have the same gap. But if I rub in either direction (front to back or inverse) I do feel it. And I think it can pick up on dirt and cause issues down the line. If anything though I doesn't feel great in my hand.

That said the iPhone X is by far the best iPhone I have ever had. I love the new design and can't go back to the older models.

was at the genius bar yesterday, they gave me a new one instead. They couldn't decide if it was the battery that was swollen or of the screen adhesive was giving up. but this was only their first quick inspection. I had a screen protector on as well. They replaced it with a Belkin, perfect fit
