I took my case and screen protector out and discover some dust in the gap, which make me curious.
So I have decided to gently try to “insert” a piece of paper in to see if the gap is actually a gap or not.
Which led to this (first try):
So yeah do you think is this common?
And yes you can insert the paper horizontally. It’s about 1/3 of the phone deep. This only happens on left and bottom side of the phone.
Apple has told me that shouldn’t be possible and other display unit doesn’t seem to have that large and deep of a gap. They recommend a repair or replacement.
What do you think?
