hey all--

i want to export a couple tracks i'm working on to itunes so i can burn a cd and listen to them on the hifi. mostly this has gone without a hitch, but one song has a really weird error: when i export it to itunes, everything sounds great and fine until about 3 minutes into the song, when the guitar solo is supposed to come in. the solo comes in sounding terrible, like a fuzz box with the mids and lows chopped off. when i play back the song in GB, though, it sounds correct: full range, searing distortion, etc.

the lead part is on its own track, so i'm guessing its either something weird about the track or something weird about the patch. my hypothesis is that its the latter, and when garageband shifts from its "preview" effects to its full quality effects for exporting, something is mishandled. the patch, btw, has a gate, amp simulation (custom), distortion (custom), and EQ (again, custom). i'm going to fiddle with the settings a bit...i noticed for instance that when i opened the patch the checkboxes for amp and distortion were unchecked, even though the track was clearly playing back with those effects. *weird*

anyway, just wondering if this has happened to anybody else...if so is there an easy fix that i'm overlooking or is it just a case of twiddling with the buttons? (thats how most music equipment gets fixed in my house. congrats on the added level of realism, apple!)

update

i deleted and redid all the patch effects: amp simulation, distortion and EQ. that didnt fix it. i also tried lowering and even turning off the gate filter...that didnt do anything either. at this point i think i'm just going to leave it alone and come back to it later...any pointers? i'm going to submit a bug to apple i think.

fixed

i created a new track and copied the audio segments to it, then configured it like the old track was configured. works now -- i guess it was corruption in the old track.
