i've made SURE i've remembered to save my mixes in garageband each time, and i still get this problem with AUMatrixReverb. maybe the problem just SEEMS peculiar to that reverb, because I use it the most, but it could be happening to other fx too.
so i'm working in GB, I get everything set right fx-wise, and save the file. if i quit garageband, though, the next time i open the file it IGNORES MY REVERB SETTINGS! That is, it's as though I unchecked the box for the effect (though it still shows checked, and the settings are the same as i saved them when i look in the edit menu). even weirder, when i try to adjust the sliders in the edit menu (like turning reverb waaaaay up to make sure it's not just inaudible or something), still nothing happens. i've tried the most obvious: unchecking/checking the box next to the effect in the pull-down menu, quitting/relaunching GB, checking for missaved files, etc. here's the kicker: if i choose a PRESET from the pulldown menu above the sliders, the preset reverb will kick in like nothing happened. so it seems to be a problem with remembering my manual settings. i guess i could save all my settings as presets every time i mix, but that could get annoying.
some considerations: i recently upgraded to tiger; due to some stoopid moves on my part when i first got gb, i installed gb folders in two different places, and had a heck of a time straightening out which should be in which library, etc.; and this problem is relatively recent (i.e., no problems with losing fx settings before).
oh yeah-- if your suggestion involves cutting and pasting error logs here, please tell me how to do that and what to look for. thanks!
