I'm just wondering does the macos version of garageband work on a ipad with the m1 chip, there certain things I like doing on the macos version vs the ipad/ios version, and finally testing the water with using ipad's only i can do a lot of things but starting to get back in to music a little bit and when I have a idea want to record it and sometime's I might come back to it; hope someone can help me with this just trying to find out before buying a 800 dollar ipad pro with m1 and find out it doesn't support it

I doubt that Apple will port the Mac version to iPadOS, they’re both written for a different interface.

So only buy an iPad if you are sure that you will be fine with the capabilities of GarageBand on iPadOS as it already exists.
