So i am reading the Aaron Hillegass - Cocoa programming for Mac OS X. and he mentioned that there is an option in xCode for garbage collection in Build:Code Generation:Objective-C Garbage Collection...

anyone know then why are we still bother with keeping track of the retain count and not just enable this option?

Rather than answer the question for you I will say, try it and find out why we don't :)
 
i thought one of the things about forrums is that you share your past good/bad experience on the subject?

Ok then if we are going to get smart, another one of the things about forums is the search functionality, I'm sure you would find the definitive answer to your question in more than a few threads on this forum

The best way to learn things is to try them, that's the point I was making
