When Garmin updated their software going from High Sierra to Mojave, they had many, many problems - one of which was that some Macintosh computers could not recognize/load/see the storage for the Garmin Forerunner 25 (GF25) watches.

GF25's connect by USB using a proprietary cable. It is not required to have Garmin's software running to see the storage of the GF25.

I have a minimalist Mojave installation that recognizes the GF25. And a "fully loaded" Mojave installation that cannot see the GF25.

The drive that recognizes the GF25 is a minimalist installation - almost "stock". It does have Intego antivirus software. The drive that does not recognize the GF25 has all of the programs that I have acquired and use on a regular basis for work. It also has Intego antivirus software.

Is there some way to migrate individual programs, and their data, to a minimal installation Mojave drive, and check to see which programs are causing the computer to not recognize the GF25?

Thanks for any help.

The computer I am using is a Mac Pro 4,1 upgraded to a 5,1 (identifies as a 5,1). Firmware is 144.0.0.0.0. The GPU is a Radeon RX580 with EnableGop firmware upgrade to provide for a bootpicker and key controls during startup. The computer has from one to four Samsung EVO 860 2Tb drives in IcyDock enclosures. There is 24 Gb of RAM, 2 x 6 core 3.46 GHz Intel processors running it. The computer is running with SIP enabled.
