Garmin still don't support Mac.

I received this email in a query about mac support from Garmin, a couple of days ago.

Thanks for contacting Garmin.
As far as I know, unfortunately, our Garmin GPS products, except of Training Center series, are not compatible with MAC yet.

Today I came across Garmin Announces GPS Product Support for Mac OS X which was written 16 months ago. "By the end of 2006, Garmin intends to have made all its popular hardware and software applications Mac OS X compatible."

I can't believe that in 2007 I am forced to find a windoze machine in order to use a modern gps receiver. I mean they aren't recompiling some 3D software, it's just to download a few frikken maps. Who would have thought that 2007 would be like 1984.

i am pretty confident I had some garmin apps for my gps(es? dunno the plural) that worked on macosx...

At least they're trying pretty much all the manufacturers blow in terms of mac support..

The support rep you spoke to obviously wasn't very up to date on what is going on at Garmin. There has been software out to update the hardware and a POI loader for a few months now. It has even been updated once or twice already now.
