FaceTime. And I'm ecstatic.

If you have parents that can't just can't frame themselves in screen, get them a iPad Pro M1.

At first, I thought Center Stage is a gimmick, but when I tried it, I was like, my parents needs this....no no. I needed this for them.

First time making a FaceTime call, perfection.

They are always in screen! and they don't need to be sitting right next to each other.

One little feature makes a world of a difference esp. when video chatting.

Great upgrade from her 2013 iPad Air that she complains was slow.

Think this will last her for at least 15+ years.

I don't think I'd like Center Stage, as sometimes I want to go off-screen and I'm perfectly capable at making sure I'm on/off-screen when I want to be. But I bet it'd be really useful for these instances.

You can disable the feature. Also, it can’t follow you everywhere. It can cover quite a bit of space, though.

You better make sure you have clothes on down below with Center stage ?

but I find it a very nice feature and it can be turned off if wanted

I showed my mom how to use FaceTime and the camera. Problem solved, and an entry level iPad was all that was needed.
Must have missed the part where both parents using FaceTime at the same time use case. Entry level iPad camera isn't wide angle enough for both people to be in a comfortable position.

They have to be shoulder to shoulder and be within frame...not gonna happen.

Oh for almost divorced parents I’d simply get two entry level iPads and get them on the same call if they like, just in case they cannot sit together like civilised people. Or entry level iPhones. Still not in the spending arena of the iPad Pro and MK.

It sure does, but everything is off center and it makes the viewing experience less personable because it looks like the person is looking away and at the screen instead of looking at your face (camera).
Fair enough. I guess I don’t notice, but I’ll take your word for it.

I agree. I like it portrait for one-on-one, but when you have 2 people FTing, landscape fits everyone better.

I don't know, there's something interesting about talking to someone's forehead.

It would be great if Apple would add a camera to the side for when we use the ipad in landscape mode.

I second that. I use my iPad Pro with the keyboard case for video conference calls and it is off putting to always look like you are looking away. It makes the iPad unusable for teaching a class or facilitating a session; tasks it would otherwise be perfect for. As a result, it is relegated to being a second screen for my MBA.

I wish Elgato would add an iPad app to connect EPOC Cam to an iPhone from an iPad. WifiBooth looks promising.

For the past 7+ years I was done talking to foreheads and keep telling them to be in the camera every single time.
