Gear S release date?

Samsung press release simply says "fall". Only to be sold initially by the 4 major telco carriers.

Gave up and called Samsung from work today since we have pretty much a direct line in to their press folks.

They said that the S was supposed to have soft launched on ATT last week but it was pulled back on Oct 8th. Intention is to now launch it on all carriers on November 7th.

Note Edge Launch set for November 14th but may possibly be changed.

Dang! I leave on 11/14 for a trip. Was hoping to get one with more time to insure I like it. If that's true I'll be pushing it.....

That's a great news! Any idea if the WiFi in it is capable of connecting to any WiFi, or it's only an ad-hoc WiFi for communication between the watch and the phone? I have a hotspot that's always with me, and I'd love the watch to use this WiFi for connectivity - without needing the phone.
