For those of you who have been following the 14.5.1 "throttling" (actually was a bug) thread, some of us were seeing reduced performance which was confirmed by Geekbench CPU tests. However, 14.6 has fixed this issue.

My question is about the Geekbench "Compute" (GPU) tests. I thought this was maybe also a 14.5.1 bug issue, but it persists in 14.6. If I run two or more "Compute" tests in a row, unlike the CPU tests, the score goes down with each test. However, if I force quit the Geekbench app, restart it, and run another Compute test, the score will be "correct" once again.

Just wondering if this is normal behavior, a bug, or something wrong with my phone (12 Pro).

Could someone please test this? I have suspected for a while that my 12 Pro might have an underperforming graphics processor and I want to know if this is normal behavior before asking for a replacement phone.

I ran the compute test on iPhone 12 Pro running. 14.4.2 and the numbers did jump around

Ah, thank you! Also good to know that this was an issue prior to 14.5. If you force kill the Geekbench app, re-open it, and run another Compute test, does the test result return to "normal"?

within reason. After killing the app, I was able to get 9410 on the computer score

Same, or in the 9400's at least.

So now that I know it's not an issue with just my phone, I wonder if this is an iPhone 12 Pro issue, or if its just how iOS reacts to the Compute test?
