Wow, that's expensive! Anyone in Canada picking one of these up unlocked? :)

Wow.. F Apple if I lived up there.
totally

not including tax after you factor in exchange rate its 89.05 USD more just to be canadian.

i live near the alberta border so i could get it with only 5% sales tax rather than BC's 12% or i can drive a hour or so south to the USA and pay 0% (heck even if i wasnt near the border id use a reshipper like shipito to avoid them)

so yeah ill probably get one but i'll be buying it in the USA.
doing so I save a total of 273.62 USD (minus 2-3 hours of my time/gas and probably lunch)

on the flip side i'll probably take and fill a few jerry can's because gas up here is the equivelant to $3.91USD a gallon.

TLDR version: when it comes to pricing it sucks being canadian

And someone here will pay for that outright

they will justify it after the 14 day return time span has ended, keep it

and they will do it next year all over again

We will find out on Friday how quickly the shipping dates change.I am ordering the XS Max 512GB for my wife. She needs a new phone.I am probably going to just keep my 256GB X that I purchased last year.

BTW,all iPhones come unlocked in Canada now.

each and every year all smartphones are getting expensive mostly iphones so eventually people will keep their phone for 3 to 4 years tops

I paid CAD$1179 for my iPhone 7 Plus 128 GB. The replacement for that would be the iPhone XS Max 256 GB, but that's $1729, which is the same price as my 2017 12" MacBook 256 GB if you can believe it.

I'm strongly considering just getting a iPhone XR 64 GB to replace my wife's iPhone 6s 64 GB, and I'd keep my iPhone 7 Plus.

I will be getting the 512 max in gold. I don’t plan on upgrading next year so I can justify the 2k+ cost.

im just going to get the iphone x than xr.. really not much difference.. xr have a bigger screen but display will be lacking, so many colors to choose than iphone x.. now that the iphone x will be cheaper than before.. so im going for iphone x & go to my carrier & purchased it

Canadian dollar != US dollar.

Is this elementary school? Why do people not understand this?

1999 CAD is closer to 1536 USD. Jesus you people need to read a book or something.

thats why we are complaining about prices being higher AFTER exchange rate.

considering its free shipping and all orders wether they be from apple.com or apple.ca are dropshipped from the same warehouse in china it should literally be cost plus exchange ONLY.

eg. on that topend model not inluding tax on eitherside we pay $88.67 USD AKA $115.33 CAD more just for the privilage of living on the wrongside of a tree clearing.
heck sometimes like when i ordered my old 6+ from apple.com it landed in Canada before the courier took it to one of the mailboxes i have in the US.

then as my post states above if you factor in sales tax savings on the maxed out high end model I would save
$273.62 USD aka $355.89 CAD its rediculous

atleast with the Australia example they could argue shipping is higher and they bake that in when they give "free shipping" considering our close proximity and the fact that it may enter us to get to you makes that excuse invalid.

I think I’m just going to buy an XR 128 GB. That’s CAD$1099.

The $1729 on the XS Max 256 GB is just ridiculous.

That’s a difference of $630, or 57%!
