Just finished installing an MSI GTX 1080 in my brother's mid-2010 Mac Pro. On 10.13.6, have latest web driver and CUDA, but Premier Pro CC is now running SLOWER than it did with his original 5870.

I've selected CUDA for GPU acceleration in Premier settings, and Web Driver is selected in nvidia Driver Manager.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Tom

What version and build of Premiere Pro CC?
What version of CUDA installed?
What version of Web Drivers installed?
What OS and build are you on?
What timeline settings are you using?
What resolution is your timeline?
What source footage, resolution and codecs are you using?
Is your media cache SEPARATE from your source media drive?

If you've recently upgraded to CC 2019, MAKE SURE YOU RESET YOUR MEDIA CACHE LOCATION.

He'd be much better off with an RX 580 by the sounds of things. Much better suited to macOS at this moment.
The GTX 1080 works great in Windows on a cMP however.
