Hi all not sure if it is the sensor part or not, but on inside of AirPods next to the mesh grill the little black circle on my gen 2’s is slightly raised and a little rough. I took the 1st set back because of this but the replacements also seem to be the same. I don’t recall this on my old gen 1 AirPods. But these gen 2 seem to have it? Is this right or just 2 bad sets? Thanks

It’s hard to see from your picture how much they protrude, but my AirPods 2 look like this:

Can you feel that black bit as you run your finger over it? Mine is only very slightly not flush but can still feel it

I cannot feel it on the left AirPod, but can on the right one. The difference between the two is like 0,2-0,3 mm. I would not worry about it, as we do not feel these round bits with our ears anyway and it should not impact the sound. Provided they work as advertised, enjoy them as they are and do not get too attached, since their batteries are toast in a few years anyhow, they cannot be resold and we would be moving on to something new afterwards. ??
