God bless Apple. I love 'em to death, and there's not a chance bloody hell I would ever use anything else. But there some things that are sincerely annoying me. I'm hoping 10.3.3 fixes them (whenever it's released) but until then.....
1) Safari
Often when I hit Command-T to create a new, it doesn't create a new tab, but closes all but one window in the program, and makes that one completely blank - it won't let me use the back button, so whatever I might have been working on in that window is lost. Agh!
Safari has been really pokey for no good reason. My internet connection is raging fast (3 Mbps/512 Kbps), yet Safari still stalls. It mostly happens when I'm trying to enter text into the address bar or in any given field in a window. I'll start typing text and the little Beach Ball of Death pops up.
Other times without provocation or warning, Safari just decides to stop working and freezes or randomly quits. Not reason. It just does.
2) Finder
Finder likes to randomly quit too. Almost every time I export a photo from iPhoto, Finder quits and relaunches. Or when I open up any given program, it quits and relaunches.
When I try launching applications (Has happened with most of them, but quite often with Disk Utility, Mail, iChat, & System Preferences), the computer freezes for anywhere from 5 seconds to a full minute with the ubiquitous beach ball doing its thing.
Bah. There are a bunch of others, but basically, the point is that everything is very buggy lately. None of it started immediately after an update or anything, but developed over time. I repair disk permission regularly, go through a delete files I no longer need, etc. Yet it still does all this. I have plenty of RAM (768 MB - I would have more if I could afford the 1GB chip) so I can't imagine that being the problem. Anyhow, any help or advice you might offer is more than welcome, as are posts from anyone who simply wants to commiserate. Thanks!
