Well, I got my first Mac Mini setup tonight. Overall I am mostly impressed. In fact, I write this post from the Mini right now. Sort of a nice change from sitting at the desktop and typing.
Anywho, a few questions for optimization purposes on the system.
1.) There was alot of talk on forums in the past about 1080P display on a Mac Mini. They always talked about under display resolutions, 1920x1080 showing up with the word "(interlaced)" next to it. On the new Mac Minis, this word is missing, same with the 720 resolution. Is it safe to assume the display is running at 1080P instead of 1080i?
2.) I have a 120hz TV. The basic option for display shows the 1920x1080 running at "60hz (NTSC)". Would it be in my best interest to download a program to allow me to change it to 120hz so my TV and Mac have the same refresh rate?
3.) I noticed on 1080, some text appears blurry from across the room. I'm not sure what to attribute this to yet. If I change the resolution to 720, everything is crystal clear, but huge obviously. I'm not sure if it's because the text is so small and I'm sitting 6ft away that it "appears" blurry, or if it's possibly an issue stemming from the refresh rate (see question 2). Currently I have the Mac hooked up via a DVI->HDMI adapter. Interestingly enough, the mac recognizes the receiver I am going through for video as the video "display"
Any opinions/help would be appreciated. Trying to get the best viewing experience I can out of this rig.
Thanks!
