Does anyone have any experience with a non-Apple USB to ethernet adapter on the Macbook Air? They be found on eBay for as little as 3 bucks, and I wonder if it'll be plug-and-play like the OEM adapter, which is $29.

I bought the apple one for a recent trip and it worked fine. I know you said you were looking at an Ebay one, but if it dosent work, you will be spending more than apples price of 30 bucks. Just my 2cents.

Rockville (Despite REM's plea.)
There was a thread a while back about this. The answer is .. it depends :)

If the device you choose happens to be one of the OSX supported chips, you win. Otherwise, you lose. While I did opt to not buy the Apple-branded video adapters, I did go ahead and buy the Apple USB to ethernet adapter to avoid too much fiddling.
