Hi folks.

Does anyone else find that when the air comes out of a deep sleep (ie when sleeping for 1hr or more) the genie effect when minimising and maximising windows pauses half way through and is not as smooth as it should be. Sometimes it sorts itself after a few minutes and sometimes it requires a reboot.

Anyone else? It's slightly annoying :(

It hangs for a second and then carries on. Like the GPU is yet to warm up if you know what i mean? The dock icons stutter as well.

Mine has this exact problem, well not so much problem just a quirk. Every time I open the lid or awake it from sleep the genie effect on the Applications folder, Utilities folder and Dock are stuttery.

But as you said after a few minutes it returns to normal. Mine has nerver required a reboot though.

I'm just going to bump this thread to see if any others have the same thing or if anyone has found a resolution yet. It really spoils the whole concept of instant on. It affects scrolling in web pages too. Take around 2 minutes for animations to become fluid again.

Believe it or not this has to do with a "feature" of the MBA. The ability to have 30 days of standby time is because when the MBA is asleep and not plugged in then it goes into a "deep sleep". It takes about 4-8 seconds for it to truly wake up, but this only happens when its on battery power and asleep for an hour or two. Otherwise it will be instant on and go like one would expect.

Can this be disabled? I cannot answer that.

4-8 seconds? it's more like 2 minutes before the genie effect, dock effects and web page scrolling are even slightly smooth.

my dock icons stutter as well when coming out of deep sleep. Only takes a few seconds and it acts normal though.
