Genius Macbook Pro Q

I popped into the Regent St Apple Store and I noticed all the Macbooks used by the Geniuses have clear rubber feet located on the area above the speaker grille by the Maglock connector on the left hand side and the DVI connector on the right.

I wonder why this is?

Could these be from keeping the MB from closing all the way so they don't go to sleep?

I know they lock their computers down, could this be part of some mechanism to prevent scratches?
