hi all

Recently got myself a series 3 Watch and am looking for a comfy band. I currently only have a sport band but am looking at the woven or sport loop option.

All I wanted to know, is has anyone tried the above, both from Apple and third party? I am assuming no difference, especially in terms of comfort but wanted your opinions :)

I haven't tried any third party bands. However, there are a plethora of posts on here from people noting that many of the third party sport bands are not the exact size as the original, nor is the quality as good as the original. The same has been said of many of the loop bands as well.

Take a look in the third party watch band thread.

There actually are significant differences between third-party and Apples OEMs bands. In terms of quality materials and construction, Apples bands are significantly better.

However, the resemblance between third-party and Apples bands are almost identical.

For example, Apples Sport bands have a certain thickness, and overall Have a different texture, where as third-party sport bands are much cheaper in quality, thinner and not nearly as well constructed.

I own primarily all Apple OEM bands (Sport, leather loop, stainless link bands and woven nylon) , but I do have some third-party sport bands and the differences are notable between both.

The third party loop I have seems pretty well constructed, but it really bugs me that it is a bit narrower than the genuine one. Enough that I then bought the OEM one in the same color. The third party sport bands... if you aren’t going to wear it much and just want a huge collection of different colors, then they are fine. But if you just want one or two that you wear all the time, they will start to get sort of gummy and shiny if you get the third party.

Thanks! I think I’m going to be brave and go for a genuine sport loop :)

I recently purchased a third party sport band and it was identical to my apple band as far as construction, thickness and length. When comparing side by side and picking them up there appears to be no difference in quality. It fits and feels like the Apple band. I believe the seller may be relatively new as there were only a few reviews and color choices were not as extensive as some sellers. I just ordered another today.

There are a lot of knock offs that look really good. I’ve just found that over time they break down (because they are silicone, not fluoroelastomer) if you wear the same one a ton. If you mix it up a lot, not a big deal.
[doublepost=1516916077][/doublepost]I couldn’t find an ultra violet, so I have a new knock off that I love. But I also have some in my drawer in other colors that I used to love but and wore every day for awhile that haven’t stood the test of time the way the originals do.

If you are in need of a 42mm Ultra Violet, I know where you can get one.

Do you mind sharing the seller?

I have lots of oem bands and lots of third party band. I have two sport loops that are oem and two that are third party. They are ever so slightly narrower. It doesn’t bother me very much. What I prefer is to have lots of bands of all types in lots of colors and for this reason I just buy what I like. Next up on my list is some bands that are beaded!
