All i'm seeing on the reminders app is to remind you on a specific day. Is there some setting out there that i can't see to enable those geo fences they were talking about?

On the same topic, is there an option to add a location that's not already listed in your Contacts? For example, I want to make a reminder that will alert me when I get to Costco today. I have to add Costco to my contacts before I can add it as a geo-fence? Ugh...this will get old really quick if that's the case.

Not every device has it. I can't remember which, but I do know the 3GS, 4 and iPod touch 4 don't have it.

you might want to add the iPad 2 and 1 to that list... im not getting location reminders.

Yeah, I couldn't remember which ones.

If the iPt4g doesn't have it, neither does the 3rd gen.

So, the following devices do not have location based reminders:

iPod touch 4
iPod touch 3
iPhone 3GS
iPad 1
iPad 2

Not sure about iPhone 4. If someone could check to be sure, it'd be cool.

I'm not getting location reminders as an option on my iPhone 4, and it should most certainly have it.

For some odd reason, you don't get the option for "at a location" in the "tasks" reminder list. I created a new list, and once I added something to that list the option to remind me at a location showed up.

Ummm on my iP4 I have location based reminders set already....so yeah take the 4 off of there

Also perhaps you need 3G version of the ipad, you know cuz they have GPS chips in them to always tell where you are, as opposed to wifi only that, well needs wifi location services to tell you where you are...but yeah they're on my iP4 and about to check them on my 3G iPad once its done loading the update in a minute

I have the 4 and see the options, but it doesn't seem to remind me when I hit the same spot. Am I missing something?

worked on iPad in beta, feature was removed in release for some reason. It has been submitted multiple times on the add location feature without going through contacts. Should work more like the maps app: type in cosco, it will return locations for cosco near you then you just tap on the one you want to use. You can also enter in an address directly, or select from a contact.

Reminders actually worked for once. I didn't touch any settings. I had set a reminder earlier were I usually park, and set it for when I arrive. Got a unexpected reminder popup on my lock screen. :)

The only thing that I noticed was I was sitting in my in my car for a good 5 minutes before I got the reminder. Makes me think that if I was just driving past, I wouldn't get reminded again.

If you sync with an Exchange server be sure you are in Reminders instead of Tasks.

Tasks will not provide the option for location based alerts - only Reminders. You can swipe left/right to move between them.

Hello Apple, Just figured that Location Reminders only work when the Wifi is on on m

What I noticed on my iPhone 4 is that the Location Reminders only work if the Wifi is on. Is it the same for everyone?
