iPhone German iPhone 4 locked to telekom unlockable?

Anybody know if you can unlock an iPhone 4 that's locked to telekom?

I had the phone when I was living in Germany and now am in the US and can't use it... Can't seem to find much info out there.

You can get an official unlock from T-Mobile DE if it's been 2 years since you've bought the phone through them. Wish I knew that before I got mine... Looks pretty hopeless otherwise, unless you want to resort to using a SIM interposer.
