I've found the perfect item to help in buying those seemingly pricey iPad apps that are going to be released on Saturday. Right now, Costco is selling $60 pack of iTunes cards for $47.99. They have a sign posted that says limit 2 per customer, but I had no issues buying 4 packs at the local Costco here in San Diego (Chula Vista branch had plenty of cards in stock). They are only on sale until Friday, April 2nd!!

I just spent $192 and got $240 worth of iTunes spending. Hello iPad apps!! :D

Alia I see you're from Orlando. Don't suppose you happen to know if they have them in the South Orlando store do you? Is it a nationwide deal? I'm in Orlando on Friday :) Will it be worth checking? :)

Anthony, you have to go to the actual store to get the $60 for $47.99. They don't have it available online.

Oh cool, thanks for sharing... I'm from poway Cali, I'd probably stop by at costco after work and pick one up... Thanks

I went to the store off University Ave. They had them there, and I picked up 2. I didn't try to get a bunch like OP, since I think $120 will be plenty for me for the moment. I can't vouch for any other Costco stores in Central Florida, however. :)

That's cool, as long as its nationwide and not exclusive to CA stores or similar. If it's at your store chances are it'll be in South Orlando :) I don't expect you to vouch for any other store ;) Thanks :D I think 2 will be enough for me too. Did you have to pay FL sales tax on them. Not sure with them effectively being gift cards that you usually wouldn't have to? Haha I'm full of questions today :)

In California, I was not charged Sales Tax at Costco when buying the gift cards.

Gift cards are never taxable. You pay tax when you spend the gift card if your state taxes iTunes stuff.

Cool, thanks for your reply :)

I've never been charged sales tax for iTunes purchases before so I guess that's good news :)

How many were you able to purchase?

I'm planning on stopping by the store in Roseville later to buy 4 packs. $192 for $240 in iTunes money... good deal!

I bought 4 packs...although I'm quite certain I could have boughten more if I wanted to. The cashier did not know about the "limit 2 per customer" and their system did not throw up any blocks either.

Anyone know if Sam's has a similar dealer? No Costco in my area, but 2 Sam's clubs.

Not such a deal at Sam's Club. I only saved a couple of bucks. They come in multi packs of $100, $60 and $40 I think. I bought the $60 multipack (4 $15 cards) for $57.76. I think the $40 multipack was going for around $38 and the $100 pack for around $95. But, it was the best deal I could find where I live

Correction, I returned the $60 multi pack and got the $100 multi pack for $95.68.

Wish I could pay for the entire iPad with *just* gift cards (if I could get 8~9 packs from Costco). Do they take that many gift cards (32~36 LOL) in retail store or online? Not sure if the online order form allows *that* many gift card entries...

I hope one day some retail outlet will sell the iTunes cards for like 35% off, then some clever guy will buy $1M worth of them (for $650k), put up an App Store App that costs $1000, use his gift cards to buy it 1000 times, get $700k back from Apple (as his 70% return on the App), and make $50k from the process.

Defeats the purpose, I won't be supporting any of the greedy developers ridiculous prcing regardless if I can circumvent it by getting discount itunes cards. Appreciate the link though if I get one I will use it to support the developers that employ fair pricing.
