macOS Get a password Applescript from the command line

Is there any way of getting your password from the command line (for remote access) into applescript to allow sudo access without having to type the password out in plain text?

I don't have a problem with typing out my password but I was wondering if (like a normal password on the command line request) it could be hidden from people looking over your shoulder. (ie if you are doing it in public.)
