Can someone tell me what the disadvantages to getting a refurbed iPod are? I have never purchased anything from apple refurbished.

I've only purchased refurbed macs but, the concern I could see for an iPod or a Mac is that their could have been something wrong with it that Apple overlooked during the refurbishing process.

Although I've never heard anyone having a major problem with a refurbed device. My biggest glitch was on a G4 iMac that I had bought the acrylic screen boarder was loose. Brought it to an apple store and it was fixed immediately.

So I'd say go ahead and buy refurbished with confidence.

My Powermac, my wife's iMac, and my iPod Touch were refurbished. We've never had a problem with any of the refurbished products. All of them were as new, just different packaging. You will never know the difference after opening.

Buy and enjoy!

Coincidence. I bought one of these refurbs a year ago. Finally opened it last night as wife took the iPod with her on vacation with the kids. Not sure why I didn't open it sooner now that I've used it. Worked great for working out. Doh!

Something about the tiny size and way of communicating what it is doing with a few lights and simplicity of dragging and dropping songs onto it strike a chord with me. (Ok maybe much of my admiration is really 'cause it is new and shiny. Time will tell.)

Still. Nice.
