Holy crap it was released last night! Looks like an XBLA game in motion. Only 99c, although the dev said on the toucharcade forums that they plan to create an long premium RPG version later.

I have to say that does look awesome. I don't like those soft button controls, but as more and more games use them, I've begun to get used to it.

Very cool game. it's a lot of fun, and easy to play. I'm not sure how much re-play this will have, since it's a lot of the same, over and over, but for now, I'm launching it often.

And at .99, it's a steal.

Dev is jaguard, publisher is Chillango in that thread.

Basically there's an update coming in a week that's going to add Wave Attack mode, an unknown mode with a different perk system, 2 more levels, and perhaps a couple more weapons or perks or enemies (they haven't decided). It's free.

They are also considering making a premium version that will have a fully fledged storyline, bosses, RPG leveling in addition to the perks etc but they are waiting to see if this game sells well first. It's 99 cents now but will raise to a regular price of 2.99 soon.

This and Shooter puts a lot of 4.99 games to shame, much less 99c games.

I was actually disappointed. Probably my own fault for expecting something other than what it is. But really it's just another 'tower defense' game just with a vampire theme. And I'm pretty bored with allntye puzzle and tower defense games. I can't wait for the premium section.

In terms of the level of gameplay complexity, it really is a $0.99 title, but the quality of the graphics, audio, polish, etc, owe no one an apology.

The gameplay is basic but fun... it is very vaguely reminiscent of Gauntlet, although to be honest it's even simpler than Gauntlet was. The free upgrade they promised will be interesting. It's a nice amusement / time pass game.

It broke my general policy against buying the $0.99-2.99 apps... although I remain generally more interested in the current premium games and also hopefully the "premium games" section to come.

This game is really awesome!

Great graphics and I really like the controls. Best controls on the touch screen I think yet. I'm really glad it's not accelerometer based, I'm getting tired of those.

For those on a budget, Shooter is another $0.99 game that just came out (see thread). It actually has not only a level of sophistication and polish approaching the $9.99 games but also a comparably (perhaps slightly shorter) story / length of gameplay.

Anyway, I bought both of them even though I still haven't finished Bobby Carrot or Rolando.

just want to jump in here and recommend this game as well.
If there was only one gun, and one enemy type, I might complain about re-playability.

But there are powerups, multiple baddies, and different weapons. The gameplay is fast and fluid, and like others have said, the graphics and audio are top notch.

While i can think of many cool additions to this game that I hope to see in future updates, as it stands it's a kick a$$ top down shooter that is well worth its $.99 price tag.

Uh...what? In what way is this a tower defense game? It looks like an action/shooter, Tower Defense is a kind-of strategy/puzzle game where you setup your defense but generally aren't directly involved in the action.

Ah, probably a bad example using tower defense then. But either way disappointing. I just don't really enjoy the whole style behind a single map with auto shoot while a stream of mobs zerg you. Like I said though probably my fault for expecting it to be something it's not.

Loving this game, will have it on my top list for a while... Can't wait for the update with new weapon(s), etc... And a full RPG version in the future, I hope so!

A few things...

1. Does having higher ranking provide you with any benefits?
2. Is there any kind of formula to how the perk choices are drawn?
3. I wish the game would auto-pause when my low battery warning comes up.

This is very nice for the price. The controls are really smooth.

It'd be nice if it loaded a bit faster though - by the time you get past the developer flash screens and the loading screen it's taken about a minute to actually play, which on a mobile game isn't great.
