This probably sounds like a dumb question and you'd wonder what kind of idiot does that but....

In my recent migration from a PC laptop to my new Macbook Pro a vast quantity of my music was idiotically deleted and not migrated. My old PC is what I used to use to sync to my Apple TV, so I haven't configured it to my new laptop. Thus my whole music collection is still in tact on my Apple TV.

Is there a way to somehow get my music library, along with a couple TV shows from my Apple TV? It's already jailbroken so I've got that part done, but it's the only place that my whole music library resides and I would like it back!

I doubt this covers everything, but any music you bought from Apple can be downloaded again with the updates to iTunes. Just look for purchased items and the cloud icons.

Only if he's in the USA, apple haven't agreed licencing worldwide for that feature yet.

Yeah no, not in the USA so can't do that yet.

It's not my purchased music I'm worried about, it's the rest that were ripped from cd's and what not the years of collecting.

Assuming this is an ATV1, you could either SSH in (if it's NitroTV'd) or physically remove the hard drive, put it in an enclosure, connect it to your mac, copy the files over, remove from enclosure, put back in ATV.

I'm not sure where the music would be stored, but you could just search for '.m4a' or '.mp3' or whatever once you've SSH'd or physically mounted the drive on your mac.
