A lot of attention (well, relatively a lot) has surrounded the iPhone 3.0 battery percentage saga: I'll fill you in, since I'm pretending it's much more than it is. If you had ever jailbroken your device and used one of the many applications to show battery percentage, you'll have it show up when you install 3.0, even though the battery percent meter is supposed to be a 3G S-only feature.

So, that said: anyone know how to get rid of the indicator? I ask because I'm thinking ahead--what if I ever need to bring it to Apple for some sort of support? They'll see the indicator, see it's not a 3G S, and know something is up. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe jailbreak again, get rid of the indicator, then rejail it.

ok, i think if you restore the phone and tell itunes its a new one (so it wont restore from backup) the batt. % will be gone!

Cause i always restore and then i tell itunes to restore from backup and it will show the batt %, or numeric battery (on past OS, like 2.2 and 2.2.1) even when the phone is not jailbroken

Jailbrake again and install SBSettings. Then you'll be able to remove it.

Mine was jailbroken and I was using the bossprefs battery indicator but it didn't show up after I installed 3.0. I did a complete restore though.
