iPhone Get rid of spotlight?

The current way to invoke spotlight is way too easy. Happens way too often and getting rid of it seems to take several taps on "cancel". I've never had a need for it and "No Spot" used to take care of it.

Is there anything out for iOS 8 that I can use to get rid of it or are we stuck waiting?
