Until this last week or so we have not been able to get 3G in Fairbanks where I live.

A couple of people I know have the 3G or GS and the little bar at the top of their phone shows the 3G icon.. My original phone still only show the “E” for Edge.

My question is am I able to use the 3G network on my original iPhone?

Thanks Rich

Nope, 3G didn't come to the iPhone until the iPhone 3G. You'll need to either upgrade or make do with the slower data connection. :(

No, I'm sorry, but that's impossible.

Unless if you took your iPhone, and a 3G iPhone apart, and switched boards.
At that point, you might as well just get an iPhone 3G (S).

Thanks for the help…..

I’ve made do for a couple of years now….. I can make do a while longer.

I want to wait and see what apple puts out this summer…….

You're in for a pleasant surprise. I still like the feel and weight of the original iPhone but boy is the 3GS blazing fast comparatively.

Mr original is beside me, and asked me to say (to you) that it's still flaring and i say to it, Never Gonna Give You Up. :p
