Getting a @me address

I have used my apple id for iCloud which is my gmail one. Is there a way to get or transfer this to a @me address as this would be nice.

also wondering about this. as far as I know it's not possible to merge them but maybe someone else can help out

I could see that you could set up a new one, but I think this would cause more trouble as everything is already set to gmail.

I myself have also been looking into this and have emailed support... I want to remove my @hotmail.co.uk address from my account and replace it with my new free me.com address.

See pic attached, it shows that both my @hotmail.co.uk and my @me.com addresses are both associated with the same iTunes account. But making my me.com address my primary address instead of an alternative is impossible for some weird reason.
