I'm going from a dell to a mac mini and i'm curious about what that means for my Iphone.

All my music is on my external HD. What will happen with my contacts, pictures and music thats currently on my Iphone? Is there anything special I need to do prior?

If you buy the mac mini at an apple store, I believe they will transfer all your data from the dell and put it on your mini, you could then make sure that the iphone can sync the new stuff.

just a thought.

I didnt buy it from the store and some of my music isn't from itunes directly.

Oh. I thought you were about to.

If the drive is a USB, mount it on the mini, then drag a test file to the mac itunes icon, it will ask to import (which copies it to the drive), if that works, keep going with the rest of the files, maybe just drag the whole master folder over.

I'll test that out! What about the iphone... contacts and pics? I wonder if those will save..?

contacts will sync to the mac on the first sync (on the mini and itunes) pics....

(look for the address book app. they will sync to that.)

....

not sure.

but worse case, just copy the images to the external drive, then to your mac, then use itunes - iphone settings to choose that folder to as your pics folder.

Alright seems straight forward! Thanks for the help

Should be a case closed!
