It's pretty easy to pick up. A couple differences from windows - if you just close the window in an application, it will still be running. You have to go into the menu and click quit (or press command+Q). There are also a lot of differences in what each OS calls things that are more or less equivalent, so that may take some getting used to. However, it is not so different that it is very difficult to learn. You should be able to find your way around pretty easily.

I just ordered an iMac 21.5", and I was wondering if anyone had any tips. This is my first Mac so I don't know how to do too much.

Congrats on getting your first mac. I think you'll love it! There are many online tutorials, FAQs, etc. on Apple's web site. Just explore and enjoy :D

i have had my 21.5 imac two days now and loving it (just need to get my head around how programs install, and unmounting stuff from the desktop) this is the first mac i have had, i know how to use windows inside out, but in a few months i should be ok with the new system.

If you want to rip DVD's to your Mac, get Handbrake + VLC, plus Subler for tagging files. They are all free and amazing.

Also download FlipforMac for web videos of windows media content (free version).
