Hey there.
I recently got some money(!) and am hoping to buy an ipod. I have a creative zen vision (30gb), which I'm not really happy with, so I am using the first gen shuffle.
I have over 10 gb of music, lots of video and photos. I was thinking of the 16gb nano, but I know I'll eventually run out of room. I like the touch, but I've heard bad things, to do with wifi, audio quality. It's also a lot of money for me.
So now I'm thinking of getting the classic. I want to use it on public transport, with my speakers, in bed and exercising.
Which should I get?

i agree. go classic, it would be the better choice. and they are more durable

I'm a big fan of the classic for people who love being able to carry their entire music collection around with them. Capacity and long battery life are the two big strengths of the classic.

Cheers and good luck

32GB iPod touch.
I have never had problems with my iPod touch; just get a good case so the screen doesn't shatter.

120GB iPod classic.
Good if you have mass amounts of music and don't want applications or Wi-Fi.

the thing about the touch is the apps take up the same space as the songs. you dont have it dedicated to just the songs.

on another note, im still using the old third gen ipod,

and this is the one the classics started being modeled after. still works like a charm. decreased batt life, but im about to replace it

Touch or Classic. don't go Nano if you have videos because you're more than likely to continue to buy videos, and you'll run out of room fast.

Flash based players like the Touch and Nano are great for lots of physical movement as there aren't any moving parts. But it depends on what type of exercising you do I guess. Obviously lifting weights and doing machines isn't going to cause a lot bouncing and jaring. And if your cardio is limited treadmills, ski machines, stationary bikes, etc... you'd be ok with a hard drive based player. Though the best of both worlds would be, the Classic for everyday use and keep the shuffle for workouts and maintain a "workout" playlist on iTunes.

i should have said somethig about this. not only will excessive movement when using a hard drive based player cause music to skip after a while, it can also be wearing on the hd. you dont want the read/write heads to touch the sick, or there will be pieces scraping off and scratched. that KILLS HARD DRIVES111 sorry but i've had it happen to a friend before. not funny

I'd go with the 32GB iPod touch, if you can afford it. Has enough storage for what you have, and what you will have for (I'm guessing) quite a while...
