Getting back Wifi Passwords through Keychain

Hi,

Yesterday I logged in to iCloud on a work computer to look for a photo I took a while ago. iCloud asked me to change my password because it wasn't save enough. So I changed it, but because of that I got some trouble with iMessage not activating anymore. After searching a bit online I found a way to get it to activate again. But... I had to "reset all settings". As a result of that I lost all my wifi passwords that were stored on my iPhone. Is there any way I can get them back? Are they stored anywhere on my iCloud keychain? Can someone from my "family" whom I share my iCloud-Keychain info with give me the passwords?

in this situation you would have to restore from an itunes backup or maybe iCloud backup


I've heard conflicting reports that iCloud keychain actually stores wifi passwords.

the reports I've heard was icould keychain keeps your web passwords. the actual wifi passwords are kept on the device and are pushed to each other. perhaps over bluetooth . but i just don't know if this is true. its just what an applecare iPhone specialist told me

last i heard unencrypted tunes backups actually do backup and restore keychains. but only on the phone they were backed up from. you only need to encrypt your backup if you want to restore that keychain to a different iPhone.

Thanks, but I don't want to restore from a previous back-up. Because that way I loose important data that's stored on my iPhone after the previous backup.

what exactly is the data ? just iMessages? a lot of stuff is iCloud and not in the itunes backup

if i wait a couple days and don't back up and i restore from an old backup. iMessages is just about the only thing i can think of that i actually lose. photos goes to iCloud , stuff is synced , mail is iCloud, etc
