Awhile ago I picked up a few 400Mhz G3 Blueberry iMacs. Excellent deal on the machines and they work pretty good with the copies of 10.2 that came with them. I have a couple of belkin USB wireless adapters but from my research online there are no Macintosh drivers for for my belkin adapters.

Searching around on ebay I have discovered various different adapters that claim they work on Macintosh, but obviously I am weary to spend my money on adapters that may not actually work with my system.

I have found airport cards online, but excuse my ignorance, will they work with my Cisco router or would i need one of the airport base stations?

Thanks for any suggestions, past experience, and ideas.

Should work with your routers. I have an Indigo 500MHz, one step later. I just have it near my router (DSL modem) and wire it with ethernet. Works through the wireless like a charm no nothing needed. The iMac is my print server and I can easily print through wireless, through modem, through iMac. (from my other 2 Macs)

Didn't those have a wireless slot? Although finding that older card might be hard, and I don't know if it would be g wireless.

From what I gather (mind you I have yet to open the machines up) there is an adapter that must be purchased for the slot loaded G3 iMacs for it to work with the airport card. However, I have found that the cards on ebay are around $50 while the adapter seems to be around $30 ($80 atleast per machine is a bit high). Perhaps I could find the stuff needed cheaper. Yes, of course it wouldn't be G wireless, the idea isn't for data transfer inside the house, the idea is so my brother and sister will have access to the wirless from their rooms. Living in a rent house, apart from loose wire hanging around the house we can't really wire the house.
