Hello,
I just bought an iphone and am "independent and free."

Anyway, I was wondering how I should go about getting contacts off my samsung (also texts, videos, pictures, etc)

and getting them ready to sync to my Iphone.

I'm planning exporting my Outlook contacts to gmail. Then exporting my gmail contacts to my macbook's contacts. I hear that you can pick which contacts you want to syn on Mac's contacts but not outlook.

Anyway, I don't know if this will work or not but I figure it is worth a try. Any comments?

Does anyone have any tips for me?

What software programs exist to transfer information from your cell phone to your computer. I just have some really memorable texts that I want to save forever. And since they don't transfer with my SIM card, that's a no go the usual way. (and since the iphone doesn't read info from the SIM).

Thanks!

Apple has posted some guidlines here

I had transferred all y contacts via bluetooth to my address book.
If you have a cable to connect your phone to the computer you can tranfer the remaining data you need.
You may want to use a 3rd part app like Easy Sync which will make it easier for you
