Getting into a moto v551

So I got my data cable for the v551, and everything syncs fine. Dates and times show up from ical. Contacts from the address book go to the phonebook. Great.

Now, what I really want to do is delete all the garbage bloating up the phone: wallpapers, stupid ring tones, games, etc. I can't figure out how to browse the phone or anything like that, so I was just wondering if anyone was able to do it with os x.

Not quite sure, I was running late for work and forgot my phone. I will check when I get home, but on a side note if you are running Tiger 10.4.1 or later and have bluetooth you can sync your phone with your mac quite easily. Mine works great once I upgraded to Tiger. Just a thought. I have too many wires as it is

I will check when I get home, but on a side note if you are running Tiger 10.4.1 or later and have bluetooth you can sync your phone with your mac quite easily. I know, and I've been trying to pick up a bluetooth module but the stores are always sold out.

But what I really want to do is delete all the ringtones/wallpapers/games/etc on the phone and put on my own stuff. I hope you can come up with something.

Bad news. Even with the buletooth you can search the phone but only 3 folders. Audio, video, and pictures. So it makes it easy to import stuff to your phone or copy pics and video off but it does not give you the option to clear the default wallpaper and rings. I really have not messed with it much however. There must be a way. You may want to try the sales people where you got your phone. All the guys at the cingular store where I got mine had this model and they seemed fairly up on how to use it. If I am around that way again I will stop in and ask the guy. If you do get the bluetooth you will be happy if you have a lot of contacts and calendar entries. I have not typed anything into my phone. I just did the sync a few time and it is done. It is a bit slow however. Sorry I could not be of more help. I will send you a message if I come up with anything.

Duh, I don't know why I kept bringing up the bluetooth. I forgot you have the cable. I am sure that yours syncs so much faster than mine!

Ok, last post tonight. I just did a quick google search and found this site. I am sure that one of these guys can help you. They seem really into their phones
