My granddaughter is 8 (almost 9), and she expressed an interest in programming. Some background: She is almost frightening in her technical adeptness. She became proficient with my wife’s iPad at 2. When I mentioned she didn’t have enough space for an app she wanted, she instinctively started uninstalling apps she stopped playing with. She has cerebral palsy, and uses her iPad with TD Snap as a communication device.

What is a good iPad app to get her started with programming, especially with creating games? Thanks for your help.

Swift Playgrounds is definitely a good bet since it game-ifies the whole process of learning to code. It's definitely a good choice. There aren't a lot of ways to write code on the iPad in general so yeah, Playgrounds.

Good on your daughter btw :) Very cool of her
