Getting M4 Mini base model going to get external nvmes

I will be editing in Final Cut Pro x as well as Premiere pro. I opted for the 256 gb only would it be better to have two 2 TB NVMEs or one 4 Terabyte to be editing from?

You save a port if you just get the one larger 4TB drive but if you do this make sure you have a decent backup strategy - 4TB of data is a lot to lose if a drive fails!

Looks like it already has a thermal pad built in without much room for a bulky ssd.
