getting mac mini, already have last gen model

I'm planning on getting mac mini 2.26ghz, standard hd, and 4gb ram. I'm making a 75 minute flash feature film using cs3 flash, and right now I'm on a tight budget. And i'm currently in possession of the previous generation of mac mini, the baseline model no upgrades. Yeesh. I know.

Now i am not very skilled or knowledgeable in upgrading the computers myself or anything like that. So very very soon i should have my new mini with specs i listed above, and keeping my old mini. In theory, if i were to use one of my two mini's as a server, which should i choose as the server?

What is it that you want the server to do? Also, what precisely do you mean by 'server'?

Well I was thinking of choosing one mini to store all my flash files on, and use the other mini to animate on. Instead of saving 17 gb of flv files on the same mini that i animate on which is really bogging things down right now

I'm not really a tech savvy guy with computer lingo heh, but i thought server was a term for computers primarily to save massive data on

and i wanted one mini to store data, and the other to create data and then immediately transfer to the one that stores data

So you want to use a mini as a HD? Used mini's still get decent prices. I just got $385 for my old core solo. If you are not going to use the old mini as a computer you might want to consider selling it and then picking up an ext. HD. You can get a 750GB ext. for under $100. That will hold a lot more than the puny (and slow) drive in your old mini and you'll have cash to spare too.
