I'm going to be getting the outside cover of my MacBook Pro laser etched.

Would anyone that knows how to use photoshop or anything create a bubble letter or cool letter word design that simply says "MPHL".

This would be so great for any help!! I would greatly appreciate it as I suck and cannot use those editing/creating apps!

Thanks.

Well, maybe you'll like some of these fonts off of the top of my head.

If you need a file prepped EXACTLY as you want it to send to the etching service from one of these, let me know which one you like and I can send you a PDF/EPS/AI file of just that typeface and nothing else... but let me know if you want it centered over the apple logo or below, or what.. I'm not sure of the exact placement other than in the center of the dimensions of a MBP according to Apple.

If you use any of them, my only requirement is that you post photos of your MBP once etched to this thread and show everyone. :)

Thank you very much for your willingness to help.

This is kinda what I had in mind in terms of where I wanted to have it put and kinda a general shape.

Would you have anything else of more on a open letter format? I'm looking for a bubble letter type set up or a style similar to that, not quite just a font.

Don't worry about that white spot, it's just a glare.

I can't see anything because you've tried to embed an email attachment. You can probably see it because you are logged in to your email, but I am not.. :) Try uploading it to http://tinypic.com/ and reposting.

Open letter format... what do you mean by that exactly? I was planning on sending you the vector image file of whatever you ended up liking, as most etching companies want... I took a shot in the dark and showed you a couple of bubble-ish typefaces and some other "cool" typefaces I thought might look nice. Could you show an example of a bubble letter that you mean? Something like these bubble letters?

You are so much better with computer then I am!

The bubble letters I was thinking was like this and If you could any any way do a little graffiti style and curved a little bit to fit where I wanted to put it that would be really cool.

here is something i threw together. The texture didn't turn out so well, but it's really just a fine dot pattern. The Etcher might not be able to reproduce it that small, but they cold fix that pretty easily i think.

(of course, this is based on you saying "bubble" letters.

EDIT: So, i guess i had this window open too long. Didn't see your reply before i did this...oh well, not what i took as bubble letters.

Ohhhh, graffiti style bubble letters. I guess I let my personal tastes interfere with what I assumed you might mean, because I hate that aesthetic. But still, I've found some inspiration and I'll see if I can make something... this is for your 17", right?

JE, I really like yours and the stylized look of it!

what do you mean..."clean up"?
as in...recreate?
or are you looking to keep the hand drawn look?
most etching machines will clean up the edges during the etching process dont they?

no offense here but why, oh why would you want that monstrosity etched onto such a beautiful piece of machinery?!?
i mean i've seen some nice etching designs in the past but if you really want your alias etching onto it couldn't you just use a good looking font rather than kid's bubble writing?

why would you etch that into such a gorgeous machine?? :) use it as a wallpaper!

I Know every one has there own opinion but I dont think the cartoony bubble letters will suit the MBP, MBP's a slick and very mechanical looking, and going and putting bubble letters on it will look weird, but thats just my opinion.

you guys may not remember but about 6 months ago some dude etched the entire top of his MBP with the word Ben in the middle its around here somewhere

Those of you that don't like my letter type please post some idea's of what you think would look cool. "MPHL" and with a slight curve like mine please.
