How can I get some personally-owned DVDs onto my phone? I downloaded handbrake and it chugged away for a few hours. I imported the result into iTunes and synced. But when I tried to watch it, it is all garbled. I can kind of see and hear snippets, but something is wrong. Any advice? Thanks!

In addition to the normal encryption (Which handbreak can deal with) some DVDs have extra copy protection features which HandBreak can't deal with.

Two suggestions: 1) Use Mac The Ripper first then HandBreak
If you have a PC, DVDFAB is great.

I use MacTheRipper all the time to keep a backup of my DVDs, then use Handbrake to rip an iPhone size file from this.

You mean you're making... um... backups of your files? Gotcha... I use DVD43 to decrypt, then use handbrake. Easy enough. DVD43 runs in the background. make sure that you tell handbrake to use the Iphone configuration.
