Sorry if this comes up a lot. I'm finally getting a new (refurbished) M1 13" MBP! Any suggestions on setting it up or anything I should do? TouchBar Apps?

Should I set up as new? Restore from this older MBP I've been using? Just download everything from the cloud? I really don't have anything saved locally, everything's in the cloud. Game files got lost and the games were 32 bit anyway.

My last NEW Mac was a 2006 CD MacBook. My last Mac was a 2011 mini running High Sierra. I'm guessing this is going to be a big difference.

Do you have a time machine backup of your old system? That’s the easiest way to transfer over files and software. If you just have files and stuff on iCloud I would just start fresh on the new system and import your files only

I do have a Time Machine backup but most of the software I’m downloading was 32 bit (mostly games).

I’ve been borrowing someone else’s MBP since my mini died but never really did anything on it other than email and text. All my documents and pictures should be up in the cloud.

I could use TM to move over Music and Podcasts! I hadn’t thought of that! Maybe there are other things on there I can move.

On a side not, it’s a bit annoying on those games. They were a little taxing on my 11 year old mini. Now that I have such a powerful Mac, I can’t play them. I was hoping the developers would have updated them but I guess not.
