I have an early 2008 Aluminum 20" iMac that has limited warranty until December 2009. I would like the recovery disk for my iMac (it was open box when I bought it and the disks were not there). I want the recovery disk incase I need to recover, or want to run BootCamp. I tried using Apple's online support service but it kept erroring, saying "We're sorry, we cannot complete your request at this time." Is this some e-mail address I can contact, explain the situation, and get my recovery disk? Or will Apple even send me the recovery disks for this machine?

Call AppleCare. Recovery discs or any disc that came with your computer will cost you about $15 w/out tax (approx. $17 and some change). This would be the best way especially if you're looking to reinstall the OS.
