iPhone getting no service with ultrasn0w

ok so i just jailbroke my iphone 3gs 6.1.3(old BR) today and did the whole ipad baseband thing and my baseband is now 05.13.04. so it is a bell iphone from canada and i used ultrasn0w to unlock it which it worked because in my about screen it shows the change of carriers from bell to fido. but im not sure if my problem is with ultran0w or the fact that i am using a micro sim with a big sim adapter. so yeah im sorry if im not being very clear here but i did cover everything for my problem. o and the iphone just keeps searching and saying no service. now idk if by a small chance it will just fix itself and connect to the fido service but iv had it unlocked with ultrasn0w for about 3 or 4 hours now. so yeah please help cause iv bin searching all day now and iv tried everything there is on the net thats suggested. please help!!! :):):):):):):):):)

There's really no need for ultrasn0w anymore - you can just do an IMEI unlock.
 
how do you reset the network settings? and do you know if it could have something to do with me using a sim adapter?

i honestly would do that but i dont have no money nor a credit card to use any of those sites

I think he's just using a sim adapter from micro sim to regural sim size to fit the 3GS.

I just checked. The latest ultrasnow works fine with 6.1.3
So not sure why its giving you problems like that.

um because the sim adapter isnt one of those interposers as u put it. its just an old chatr big sim card with the middle cut out. and the piece of crap just broke on me so now i dont even have a usable sim card unless i make another sim adapter or go demand a couple more from the guy i gt this one from. now the reason i have the adapter to begin with is cause i started out with a samsung s3 and then traded till i had gotten an iphone 4s that was unlocked until it was updated to ios 7 so then i had to go sell the 4s and i got a htc desire c which takes a big sim and i needed it unlocked which was only 25 bucks but after guy unlocked it i told him i needed a micro sim card adapter for the htc phone. and i still have the htc phone but i found an old 3gs in a bag of junk i had laying around so i thought hey why not get the iphone going since its better then the htc phone. and well now im here at this point. im now stuck with a micro sim card that barely works in the htc phone now cause it moves around in the big sim slot. and the iphone is reading the sim cards yes i said cards cause i have put a bell and rogers sim card in the iphone to but they arent activated so i didnt expect any service with thos in. but the fido sim is. but anyways theres my story. im at the point now where if you guys can give me links that will help or no of some free unlocking services then just leaave your posts and ill reply at some point. so for thos of who can or have tryed to help me thanks alot and everyone else please try and help me too

i figured as much. and neather do i man. but i removed the ultrasn0w package from my cydia installed packages for now. and maybe someone on here can help me out. thanks anyways man
 
Usually your carrier will provide a free replacement sim of whatever size you need.

Did you install Ultrasn0w correctly ? After running the package, instead of tapping restart, turn off the phone, then turn it back on (if you are sure it's old bootrom, it should boot untethered). It's possible an additional reboot might be required to get unlock working.

Sorry for mis-reading the sim adapter info.
 
Either ultrasn0w is needed to unlock or you need to buy a IMEI unlock or SIM interposer.

If you want a free sollution, then ultrasn0w is your only option.

Why did you sell your unlocked 4S?

Because the 4s was software unlocked on 6.1.3 and when the dumbass guy updated it the unlock was lost which all of this I didn't even know until after I got home and spent all night trying to get my Sim card to work on there. So then I spent a few days trying to find a jailbreak for 7 but had no luck as was expected so I went and traded it for the htc phone and 30 bucks on top. But thanks for telling me about the Sim thing ill go talk to fido tomorrow.

There is no software unlock for the 4S……

It either was a SIM interposer or an IMEI unlock both work on iOS7. Or it was an iPhone 4 not a 4S

Idk all I know is the guy ****ed it up. But all I know is right I'm stuck with a micro sim that barely works in my Htc phone. So I guess I'll half to go and see fido tomorrow. But even when I get my big sim do you think ultrasnow will work better?
 
There is no problem with ultrasn0w.

There might be with the phone, the SIM or both.

My guess is that you sold a perfectly good unlocked 4S because of a bad SIM….
 
alright thanks for help guys ill go see fido tomorrow. you sure if i ask them to replace my micro sim for a big sim they will do it for free? cause out here in canada(not sure where you guys are from) normally they charge 10$ for a new sim.
 
I have been on T-Mobile, Straight Talk and AT&T and have never paid for a sim (Straight Talk charges $10 but that is for the overnight, Express shipping)

Certainly if it is defective, they should replace it.

Lol don't worrying I got the new sim and I tried to put it in the iPhone once I activated it but it still said no service so I'm starting to think that it is the iPhone cause I also found out that its not blacklisted

yeah i gave the iphone away anyways and im just gonna get a 32gb 3gs from fido at the end of the month.
thanks for all the atempted help and idk how to close a thread or if a mod does but there is no more need for this thread.
