I have been using J River Media Center but as it does not support the Ipod Touch, I have finally installed iTunes.

iTunes does not read the ratings from Media Center, although the iPod did, so I organized the file structure such that all 5 ratings are in a separate file structure, the 4's under another subdirectory, etc.

However, it appears that iTunes is fairly dumb as regarding file structure. It does not appear that you can display where the files are or otherwise use file structure within iTunes.

Is there any way to get my ratings into iTunes using the directory structure?

Thanks.

If you set iTunes to not organize your music automatically you could do five separate imports; one for each "star" rating.

-Import all the 5-star tracks into a playlist
-highlight all of them in the playlist
-put rating to "5"
-repeat with 4,3,2,1...
